West Java Chamber of Commerce Expands Trade and Investment Access via SIBS@ASEAN 2026

The West Java Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Jabar) is actively participating in the Selangor International Business Summit (SIBS)@ASEAN 2026, held on 9–10 July 2026 at the Pullman Bandung Grand Central. This international business forum serves as a strategic momentum to strengthen economic relations between West Java and Selangor, Malaysia, whilst opening up opportunities for investment, trade, and cross-sector collaboration within the ASEAN region. As a strategic partner of the event, Kadin Jabar plays a role in facilitating the involvement of West Java businesses through business matching forums and breakout sessions covering sectors such as Aerospace, Technology, Creative Industry, Property Development, Energy and Utilities, and Rail and Mobility. The presence of Kadin Jabar demonstrates a commitment to encouraging local enterprises to expand their business networks, enhance competitiveness, and penetrate the ASEAN market. Furthermore, Kadin Jabar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the ASEAN Future Workforce Council (AFWC). Through this cooperation, Kadin Jabar has been designated as the Official Regional Partner of AFWC in West Java Province and as a strategic regional implementing partner of AFWC in Indonesia. This partnership aims to strengthen human resource development, improve competency and ASEAN-standard certification, and expand business and investment networks at the regional level. Rio F Wilantara, Vice Chairman for Organisational Affairs at Kadin West Java, stated that this initiative is part of strengthening the internal organisation to address global challenges. He noted that active participation in SIBS@ASEAN 2026 and the strategic partnership with AFWC are tangible proof of Kadin Jabar’s commitment to enhancing institutional capacity. ‘We want to ensure that this organisation is not merely a gathering place for business actors, but a solid and adaptive ecosystem capable of delivering local products and human resources to the international stage,’ Rio said. He added that strengthening standardised workforce competencies is crucial for businesses in West Java to have high bargaining power. ‘Through this collaboration, Kadin Jabar is ready to become the driving force in aligning the quality of local workforce competencies with the needs of future industries at the ASEAN level,’ Rio stated. Through the comprehensive integration of programmes involving organisational strengthening, human resource development, and market access expansion, Kadin Jabar is optimistic that this regional collaboration will have a significant positive impact on regional and national economic growth.
