West Java BUMD Holding Plan Advances to Kemendagri Desk
The plan to establish the West Java BUMD Holding has entered the stage at the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri). In addition, the West Java Provincial Government is evaluating several BUMD subsidiaries deemed ineffective and inefficient. PT Migas Utama Jabar (MUJ) is one of the BUMDs whose subsidiaries will be evaluated. Previously, the West Java Provincial Government planned to merge 36 West Java BUMDs under the Sanggabuana BUMD Holding scheme. Only Bank BJB is not included in the BUMD Holding scheme, as it is considered healthy. Of the 36 BUMDs, 28 operate in the financial sector and 9 in non-financial sectors. The efforts by the West Java Provincial Government are aimed at improving the quality of West Java BUMDs to contribute to regional original revenue (PAD). West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi stated that the BUMD merger process is still in the administrative stage at Kemendagri. His side is still awaiting the process carried out by Kemendagri. “It’s still in process. We are waiting for the governor’s regulation recommendation from the Minister of Home Affairs,” said Dedi during the halal bihalal event of the DPW Partai Nasdem of West Java Province at Hotel Papandayan, Bandung City, Friday (17/4/2026). Kang Dedi Mulyadi (KDM), Dedi Mulyadi’s familiar nickname, also commented on several BUMDs including PT MUJ which has several subsidiaries. According to him, in the future, the organisational structure of those BUMDs will be simplified. “In the future, it will be simplified under the auspices of Sanggabuana,” he said. Chairman of Commission III of the West Java DPRD, Jajang Rohana, stated that the proposal for BUMD restructuring has now entered the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) of the West Java DPRD. His side will soon follow up on the proposal. He assessed that West Java BUMDs need to be classified more thoroughly based on their performance. “Like humans, some are healthy and some are sick. If not healthy, where is the illness,” said Jajang when contacted by Republika on Friday (17/4/2026) afternoon.
