West Java Boosts Infrastructure, Governor Says Vehicle Tax Must Return to the People

The West Java Provincial Government has begun accelerating road infrastructure development in various areas. The move is taken as tangible proof that the wheels of development in West Java remain dynamic, amid issues of regional budget constraints. The provincial government affirmed its commitment that funds collected from the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) will be returned to the public. One concrete manifestation is the improvement of public facilities and services, particularly road access. West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said that road works have now commenced in several regions. He acknowledged that the construction process could potentially cause traffic jams and inconvenience for road users. “We apologise if the public experiences congestion during the concreting or repair process. All of this is done so that in the future, motorists can enjoy safer and more comfortable roads,” said the governor, who is familiarly known as KDM, on Tuesday (14/7/2026). According to him, the acceleration of infrastructure development is supported by an increase in motor vehicle tax revenue in West Java. This increase reflects the high level of public participation in supporting regional development. “The collection of motor vehicle tax in West Java continues to increase. This is a reflection that the people of West Java truly love development,” he said.
