West Java Boosts Infrastructure, Governor Says Vehicle Tax Must Return to the People

The West Java provincial government has begun accelerating road infrastructure development across various regions. The move is presented as tangible proof that development in West Java continues to move dynamically, amid concerns over limited regional budgets.

The provincial government reaffirmed its commitment that funds collected from the Motor Vehicle Tax (PKB) will be returned to the public. One concrete manifestation of this is through improvements in the quality of public facilities and services, particularly road access.

West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi said road repair works have now begun in various areas. He acknowledged that the works may potentially cause congestion and inconvenience for road users.

“We apologise if members of the public experience traffic jams during the road concreting or repair process. All of this is being done so that in the future, road users can enjoy safer and more comfortable roads,” said the governor, who is familiarly known as KDM, on Tuesday (14/7/2026).

According to him, the acceleration of infrastructure development is supported by growing motor vehicle tax revenue in West Java. The increase reflects high public participation in supporting regional development.

“Motor vehicle tax revenue in West Java continues to rise. This reflects how much the people of West Java love development,” he said.
