West Java Awaits Response from Minister of PAN-RB to Disburse Honorary Staff Salaries in West Java
Bandung (ANTARA) - West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi has stated that he is currently awaiting a response to his WhatsApp message from Minister of PAN-RB Rini Widyantini regarding the fate of thousands of honorary staff in the West Java Education Office, so that their payments can be disbursed promptly. According to him, this communication bottleneck is somewhat hindering the West Java Provincial Government’s efforts to disburse wages for these non-PPPK teachers and educational support staff, due to the risk of legal entanglements in state financial administration. “I have already messaged via WhatsApp, but the Minister of PAN-RB has not yet replied,” he said in Bandung on Tuesday. Dedi emphasised that even though the budget is available, the Provincial Government of West Java does not dare to take unilateral action to make the payments. “Yes, we are waiting. I must request a letter from the Minister of PAN-RB for West Java Province on what the situation is. Because if we make the payment, we could be blamed,” said the man familiarly known as KDM. According to him, a face-to-face meeting with the Minister of PAN-RB is an urgent agenda for this week to find a legal umbrella or middle ground so that the rights of workers in the education sector can be fulfilled immediately without violating regulations. He stressed that local governments are obliged to coordinate with the central government to ensure that financial governance remains on the correct path. “The government must discuss with the centre to find a middle ground,” he stated.
