Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Transportation Sub-District Office (Sudinhub) has issued stern reprimands to parking attendants (jukir) who imposed high fees under the pretext of the Eid al-Fitr Holiday Allowance (THR) in the Sentra Primer Barat (SPB) area, Kembangan. The actions of these parking attendants went viral on social media, with a post showing a resident venting frustration over being forced to pay Rp10,000 for motorcycle parking simply because it was during the Lebaran holiday period. “We have issued stern reprimands to the parking attendants in the CNI West Jakarta area. The follow-up involves reprimanding them and providing socialisation. If not, we will conduct operations with the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) for enforcement,” said Head of the Operations Section of Sudinhub Jakbar, Agus Prasetyo, when confirmed in Jakarta on Thursday. In addition, they will coordinate with the Kembangan sub-district apparatus and CNI area management to discuss parking issues. “Later, we, along with related elements from the West Jakarta City Government, will conduct a survey so that the CNI area management provides adequate parking facilities. For now, we are addressing it by issuing reprimands to those parking attendants,” he explained. Meanwhile, the Head of Kembangan Sub-District, Joko Suparno, stated that his office will take steps to handle parking in the Sentra Primer Barat Kembangan area. “If the DKI Transportation Agency has taken action, we will also take action through the Tertib Rabu (Orderly Wednesday) activities. In addition, we will send a letter to the CNI area management urging them to provide vehicle parking areas, both for four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles,” he clarified.
