West Jakarta Social Agency Distributes 389 Physical Aids for Disabled Residents

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Social Agency (Sudinsos) has distributed 389 physical aids (ABF) for people with disabilities during 2026. “241 adult wheelchairs, 93 hearing aids, 10 prosthetic legs, 29 tripod canes, 14 walkers, and two blind canes,” said Head of West Jakarta Sudinsos, Fajar Laksono, via text message in Jakarta on Tuesday. Applications for ABF assistance to Sudinsos can be made through the local RT/RW and will be forwarded to the sub-district. The sub-district will issue a community introductory letter (Surat PM 1) addressed to Sudinsos. “Applications to us go through the Social Assistants (Pendamsos) together with the Sudinsos Unit Head to process the administration,” Fajar said. Subsequently, officers will visit the applicant to assess the condition of the prospective ABF recipient. “Our officers conduct a visit to see what is needed and the extent of the urgency. We check both administratively and physically, so that the distribution of ABF is right on target,” Fajar concluded. Previously, the West Jakarta Social Agency (Sudinsos) targeted the distribution of 970 physical aids (ABF) for disabled residents throughout 2026. This figure is higher than the realisation of ABF distribution in 2025, which was 809 units. The 970 ABF consist of 600 adult wheelchairs, 25 children’s wheelchairs, 50 tripod canes, 50 walkers, 25 blind canes, 200 hearing aids, and 20 prosthetic legs.
