The West Jakarta Social Agency (Sudinsos Jakbar) has distributed 379 physical assistive devices (ABF) for residents with disabilities during 2026. The breakdown includes 233 wheelchairs, 92 hearing aids, 10 prosthetic legs, 30 leg sticks, and 14 walker sticks, said Sudinsos Jakbar Head Fajar Laksono via text message in Jakarta on Wednesday. Applications for ABF assistance can be submitted to Sudinsos through the local RT/RW. From the RT/RW, a referral for the resident applying will be forwarded to the kelurahan, and the kelurahan will issue a community referral letter (Surat PM 1) addressed to Sudinsos. “Submissions to us go through social assistants (Pendamsos) together with the Sudinsos sub-district unit head to handle the administration,” Fajar said. Officers then conduct a visit to assess the condition of the prospective ABF recipient. “Our officers make a visit to see what is needed and the level of urgency. We check both administratively and physically, so that the distribution of ABF is right on target,” Fajar concluded. The 2026 figure is higher than the 2025 distribution of 809 units. “For the 2026 procurement target, there are 970 ABF,” Fajar revealed. He detailed that the 970 ABF include 600 adult wheelchairs, 25 child wheelchairs, 50 three-foot canes, 50 walker sticks, 25 blind canes, 200 hearing aids, and 20 prosthetic legs.
