Jakarta – The West Jakarta District Office of Roads and Bridges has completed repairs on 636 potholed road sections across the region during the period from January to March 2026.

“Our priority is to address damaged and potholed roads because it concerns public safety,” stated Taufik Hendayana, Head of the West Jakarta District Office of Roads and Bridges, when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday.

From January to March 2026, he said, the office received 636 reports of road damage, and all of them have been acted upon. The road repairs are distributed across eight sub-districts: 42 sites in Cengkareng, 137 in Grogol Petamburan, and 52 in Kalideres. Additionally, 133 sites were repaired in Kebon Jeruk, 72 in Kembangan, 91 in Palmerah, 26 in Taman Sari, and 83 in Tambora.

Taufik explained that road damage repairs are conducted based on routine monitoring by field personnel and reports submitted by the community through various complaint channels. Each public report received is immediately verified in the field and addressed by the team. Furthermore, officers regularly conduct monitoring to detect potential road damage so it can be repaired more quickly before it poses a risk to road users, he said.

Heri, Head of the Administrative Sub-Section of the West Jakarta District Office of Roads and Bridges, added that the success of handling damaged and potholed roads was inseparable from solid internal coordination within the district office. “Cooperation between field personnel and the administrative team is the key so that every report is properly recorded and promptly handled,” he stated.

He urged the public to actively report any damaged or potholed roads in West Jakarta so that they can be quickly attended to by officers.
