West Jakarta Police Arrest Vape Narcotics Courier and Seize 30 Etomidate Cartridges

Jakarta Regional Police have uncovered a vape narcotics distribution network in Cengkareng, West Jakarta. Authorities seized 30 cartridges of class II narcotic etomidate and arrested a man identified as MS, 29.

The case was triggered by a public report concerning suspected narcotics abuse in West Jakarta. “We arrested a man identified as MS, 29, who is suspected of acting as a courier or distributor,” said AKP Yeni Yuningsih of Unit 4, Subunit 2, Narcotics Crime Directorate of Jakarta Regional Police, in a statement.

The arrest followed police receiving information about suspected narcotics activity in Kamal, West Jakarta. “Following the report, Unit 4, Subunit 2 of the Narcotics Crime Directorate conducted an investigation on the suspect,” she added.

During surveillance in Cengkareng, officers suspected a man riding a motorcycle. The team followed him before stopping and arresting him outside Sedayu Square. “Initial checks revealed a red tote bag containing 30 suspected etomidate cartridges. Police also seized the suspect’s mobile phone and motorcycle,” Yeni said.

The suspect and evidence have been taken to the Jakarta Regional Police Narcotics Crime Directorate for further questioning.

Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Jakarta Regional Police, stated that combating narcotics is a shared responsibility. “Even the smallest tip from the public is valuable to the police, starting from the immediate surroundings for us to collectively care,” he said.

He also urged residents to report potential disturbances to public security and order via the 24-hour Polri Call Center 110.
