Deputy Police Chief of West Jakarta Metropolitan Police, AKBP Rezi Dharmawan, stated on Sunday that the crackdown and patrol operations ran from 12:30 AM to 2:40 AM WIB. “As a result of the crackdown and patrols, we have arrested two individuals found in possession of illegal drugs,” he said. Rezi explained that both individuals were taken into custody for further investigation and legal proceedings in accordance with applicable regulations. He added that mobile patrols were conducted across areas deemed vulnerable to public order disturbances and street crimes, including Cengkareng Traffic Light, Cengkareng Ring Road, CNI Puri Kembangan, Kapuk Kamal Road, and Daan Mogot Road. In addition to mobile patrols, officers conducted stationary checks at strategic locations such as Arjuna Utara Street in Palmerah, Hayam Wuruk Road in front of Glodok Tamansari Police Post, and Tubagus Angke Road in front of Tambora Police Station. Rezi emphasised that the operation is part of police preventive measures to anticipate street crimes such as violent robbery (curas), aggravated theft (curat), motor vehicle theft (curanmor), riots, and other public order disturbances that commonly occur at night and early morning. He also confirmed that these area patrols and crackdowns will continue regularly to demonstrate the police’s presence within the community. “This initiative is a preventive measure to avert potential security threats and provide public safety. We will continue to increase patrols and crackdowns during high-risk hours to ensure West Jakarta remains safe and orderly,” Rezi stated.
