JAKARTA - West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah provided aid to fire victims in Jalan Kendang Barat Gang IV, RW 05 and RW 04 of Krendang Village, Tambora District, on Sunday afternoon.

During her visit to the evacuation site, Iin symbolically handed out school supplies, baby essentials, and other aid to affected children and residents.

“Most are rental homes, with 37 households and 145 people affected. All required aid has been distributed to the community,” Iin stated during a confirmation in Jakarta on Sunday.

She added that the number of evacuees has started to decrease as some have returned home.

In addition to logistical aid, her office has ensured victims receive health and psychosocial support.

Non-physical services by the Sub-District Office for Child Empowerment and Population Control (Sudin PPAPP) include entertaining children through drawing, storytelling, and encouraging them to stay positive and gather together.

Additionally, the Sub-District Office for Population and Civil Registration (Sudin Dukcapil) will handle administrative services for burned documents.

“We are coordinating and integrating three types of services—physical, non-physical, and administrative—,” Iin said.

Iin hopes the fire incident will not recur, urging residents to be more cautious with electrical appliances.

“Electrical issues pose significant risks if not up to standard. We want all electrical connections to comply with regulations, and residents to ensure their appliances are safe,” she added.

She also urged local authorities to immediately clean the affected area.

“I saw our teams and PPSU working with the Environment Office and other teams to clean the fire-affected area. Hopefully, everything will return to normal,” Iin concluded.
