West Jakarta Mayor Confirms Flooding Has Completely Subsided

Jakarta — West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah has confirmed that flooding which inundated several areas of West Jakarta has completely subsided.

Flooding caused by heavy rain that began Saturday (7 March) evening was reported to have completely receded on Monday (9 March) evening at approximately 22:00 Western Indonesia Time (WIB).

“Regarding flooding and water accumulation in West Jakarta, Monday 9 March 2026 at 10:00 WIB (evening) has dried completely,” said Iin via text message in Jakarta on Tuesday.

She stated that several areas in West Jakarta, including Kembangan and Cengkareng subdistricts, were affected by flooding.

The peak of the flooding occurred on Sunday (8 March), with numerous residential areas and major roads submerged.

Iin further confirmed that residents who had evacuated due to the flooding have now returned to their respective homes.

“And the residents who evacuated have already returned to their homes,” Iin said.

Affected areas by neighbourhood and water depth:

— Kedaung Kali Angke: 4 neighbourhoods, depth 70 centimetres

— Rawa Buaya: 9 neighbourhoods, depth 60–120 centimetres

— Jelambar Baru: 1 neighbourhood, depth 40 centimetres

— Kebon Jeruk: 1 neighbourhood, depth 20 centimetres

— Kedoya Selatan: 4 neighbourhoods, depth 70 centimetres

— Kedoya Utara: 4 neighbourhoods, depth 20 centimetres

— Sukabumi Selatan: 2 neighbourhoods, depth 100 centimetres

— Joglo: 1 neighbourhood, depth 65 centimetres

— Kembangan Selatan: 5 neighbourhoods, depth 50–70 centimetres

— Kembangan Utara: 2 neighbourhoods, depth 65 centimetres
