The West Jakarta City Government (Pemkot Jakbar), through the Food Security, Marine and Agriculture Agency (KPKP), vaccinated 36 rabies-carrying animals (HPR) in RW 005 Jelambar, Grogol Petamburan, on Wednesday.

“The animals vaccinated consisted of 23 dogs, 12 cats, and one monkey,” said Djunaedi, Head of the KPKP Service Unit for Grogol Petamburan District, in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Djunaedi said the door-to-door rabies vaccination drive was carried out to raise public awareness about vaccinating pets regularly.

“So that the Jelambar area remains safe and free from the risk of rabies,” Djunaedi said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the People’s Welfare Section of Jelambar Urban Village, Nurul Indri Hapsari, said the vaccination was carried out as a preventive measure against the spread of rabies while helping residents maintain their pets’ health on a regular basis.

“With this free rabies vaccination, residents find it easier to provide protection for their pets while saving costs and time,” Nurul said.

By the end of May 2026, officers had successfully administered vaccines to 3,692 rabies-carrying animals out of an annual target of 9,300. This number continues to grow towards the end of the year as vaccination efforts proceed across eight districts in West Jakarta.
