West Jakarta Issues Warning Letter to Owner of Collapsed Telecom Tower
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Spatial Planning, Building, and Land Sub-Department (CKTRP) has issued a warning letter to the owner of a telecommunications tower (provider) that collapsed and struck residents’ homes on Jalan KH Hasyim, RT 006/RW 01, Kembangan Utara, Kembangan.
The Head of the Building and Structure Section of the West Jakarta CKTRP Sub-Department, Joni Setiawan, stated that during the field inspection, no project signboard for the Building Construction Approval (PBG) or Building Erection Permit (IMB) was found on the telecommunications tower construction project.
“That construction project must also have approval from the surrounding environment, RT and RW. That must be included in the PBG requirements. One form of approval is the signature of the residents,” said Joni when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the CKTRP Sector Officer for Kembangan Sub-District, Syaiful Bowo, explained that his side has issued warning letter (SP) one to the owner of the telecommunications tower building, signed by the Head of the West Jakarta CKTRP Sub-Department, Lucia Purbarini Soepardi.
“We have taken administrative action in the form of issuing SP 1 to the building owner. If that letter is not heeded, then SP 2, 3 will be sent up to the demolition letter,” he said.
Separately, the Head of the Investment Management Unit of the One-Stop Integrated Service (UP PMPTSP) of West Jakarta City, Lamhot Tambunan, stated that his side has checked the permits related to the construction of the telecommunications tower in the Kembangan Utara area.
To date, the police are still investigating the potential criminal aspect in the case of the collapsed provider pole striking two rented houses on Jalan KH Hasyim Pondok Cabe, RT 06 RW 01, Kembangan Utara, Kembangan, West Jakarta.
“If for the investigation process, it is still being deepened by the Reskrim side,” said the Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jakarta West Police Resort, AKP Wisnu Wirawan, when contacted in Jakarta on Sunday (12/4).
Based on witness statements, said Wisnu, the incident occurred when several workers were installing the tower sleeve on Saturday (11/4) morning.
“According to witness statements, workers at 08.00 WIB during the installation of the Telkomsel tower sleeve. At that time, the sleeve condition twisted, thus making the support pole not strong,” said Wisnu.
As a result, the provider pole collapsed and struck two rented houses in the area. The incident also caused one resident named Ahmad (53) to suffer minor injuries.
“Injury to the top of the head with a bump, and the right ear scraped,” said Wisnu.
