According to social media monitoring on Tuesday, 19 May 2026, West Jakarta has been identified as a ‘red zone’ for robberies and vehicle theft. A series of incidents have occurred in several areas, including Kebon Jeruk, Grogol, Kembangan, and Cengkareng. Perpetrators are reportedly using various methods, ranging from snatching motorcycles on quiet roads to stealing vehicles while victims are distracted at food stalls or in parking areas.
