West Jakarta improves disability guiding blocks obstructed by wall

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Road and Bridge Infrastructure Sub-Department repaired disability guiding blocks obstructed by a wall in the Angke area, Tambora, on Monday.

The Head of Roads and Bridges Section of the West Jakarta Road and Bridge Infrastructure Sub-Department, Khairul Imam, stated that the repair involved installing new guiding tiles around the wall until they reconnect with the old tile path.

“The guiding tiles have been addressed, with a length of about two metres,” said Khairul when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday.

He explained that the installation was carried out by two members of the Task Force of the West Jakarta Road and Bridge Infrastructure Sub-Department.

“The guiding tiles were installed along the side of the wall, thus connecting the guiding block path to ensure continuity,” Khairul clarified.

Previously, a video uploaded by a netizen showed the condition of the visually impaired guiding block facilities near Angke Station obstructed by a wall, which was deemed potentially dangerous for users.
