West Jakarta hospital clarifies reports that a Muse model was mugged
In a narrative circulating on social media, the victim was said to be undergoing treatment at Sumber Waras Hospital, with police subsequently checking the facility. Tri Nurmansyah, a representative of Sumber Waras Hospital management, said that based on their investigatons, no patient data matches the name mentioned in the posts. ‘Based on our investigations up to this point, the patient named in those reports is not present in the data of patients currently being treated or previously treated at Sumber Waras Hospital,’ he said, quoted on Wednesday, 20 May 2026. He noted that the clarification is intended to prevent the spread of misinformation and urged the public not to readily believe information whose veracity is unknown. Meanwhile, police are continuing to investigate the circulating information. The inquiry is aimed at establishing the factual situation.
Earlier, circulating reports claimed that a Muse model with initials AJDV had been the victim of a mugging in the Kebon Jeruk area of West Jakarta. Police checked the location and the hospital. The social media posts alleged that AJDV was in critical condition after the incident, which reportedly occurred while the victim was travelling by online motorcycle taxi near the Kebon Jeruk toll road. The incident’s timing was not specified, but the posts described head injuries to the victim and a laceration to the driver’s arm. It was claimed that the victim was taken to hospital in a critical condition and unconscious. The posts drew wide attention from netizens who prayed for the victim.
Metro Jaya Police Public Relations head Kombes Budi Hermanto confirmed that officers had been to the scene of the incident to verify the facts. ‘Regarding the information circulating about an alleged mugging of a model in the Kebon Jeruk area, Kebon Jeruk Police Station and the West Jakarta Metro Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit have conducted initial checks at the suspected location and visited Sumber Waras Hospital to confirm the truth,’ he said in a statement on Monday, 18 May.
