The West Jakarta City Government held the Quality Convention, also known as the Health Innovations Exhibition (Helix), on Thursday, serving as a platform for ideas and strategies to improve the quality of healthcare services through cross-sector collaboration.

“Healthcare facilities are not just about medicine and equipment, but also about comfort and innovation so that the community is willing to seek treatment and remain consistent in their medical care,” said the Head of the West Jakarta Health Sub-department, Dr Sahruna, in Jakarta on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the Assistant for People’s Welfare Administration of West Jakarta, Depika Romadi, stated that Helix 2026 adopts the ‘Helix Governance’ concept, which involves five elements: academia, the business world, community, government, and media.

“For this year, Helix is highlighting the theme of maternal and child health, as well as Family Planning,” he said.

According to Depika, this theme is vital because maternal and child health—including the prevention of maternal, neonatal, and infant mortality, as well as stunting—remains a challenge that must be addressed in an integrated manner.

“Even though Jakarta has relatively complete healthcare facilities, the risks of death and complications during pregnancy and childbirth must still be prevented, particularly through early detection, antenatal care, safe delivery, neonatal care, and rapid referral systems,” he emphasised.

Helix 2026 involves two private hospitals, four West Jakarta regional public hospitals (RSUD), and eight community health centres (puskesmas).

“Through this activity, it is hoped that service innovations will emerge, including the use of digital technology to ease healthcare access and strengthen collaboration in improving maternal and child health,” he added.
