West Jakarta Government Issues Third Warning to Individuals Blocking Cengkareng Inspection Road

The West Jakarta City Government has issued a third Warning Letter (SP) to individuals claiming to be heirs who have unilaterally closed the eastern section of the Cengkareng Drain Inspection Road, RT 007 RW 10 Kapuk, Cengkareng. The third warning letter was issued prior to enforcement action by the West Jakarta Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

Cengkareng District Head Suhardin stated that the series of warning letters were issued with the aim of restoring the road’s function. He explained that the Bina Marga Sub-department had previously repaired the damaged road, but after the repairs were completed, a party claimed the road section was still an asset belonging to the heirs.

Feeling the road belonged to the heirs, they insisted on controlling it. This occupation of the land by the heirs has impacted road users, as motorists cannot pass through the access road because it is blocked by a fence.

Suhardin said the local government invited the heirs for discussions to open the road access because it was disrupting public order. During these discussions, Suhardin advised the heirs to pursue legal channels if their rights were being harmed. However, they did not comply, leading Cengkareng District to issue the first, second, and third warning letters.

Despite the government’s explanation, the heirs remained adamant and refused to accept it. Suhardin stated that the government, together with the three pillars of the sub-district police, sub-district military command, and Satpol PP, will continue to follow up to restore the function of the road as a public facility provided by the government for the public interest.

Suhardin confirmed that enforcement action will be taken after the third warning letter is served, with the operation to be carried out within the next three days at the latest. The enforcement is planned for next week, involving the three pillars, so that the road access can function normally again.
