West Jakarta Fire Department Extinguishes Truck Fire in Kalideres

Jakarta - The West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat) successfully extinguished a fire that engulfed a truck on Jalan Sukamaju, RT 01/RW 06 Tegal Alur, Kalideres District, on Monday.

Head of Operations for the West Jakarta Gulkarmat, Syaiful Kahfi, confirmed that the first information about the fire was received after a resident came directly to report it at the Tegal Alur Fire Post.

“We received the report at 10.47 WIB from a resident who came to the Tegal Alur Post. Officers were dispatched one minute later, at 10.48 WIB,” he said.

Officers arrived at the scene at 10.50 WIB and immediately began extinguishing operations a minute later. To tame the flames, the West Jakarta Gulkarmat deployed four fire engines with a force of 20 personnel.

“The initial deployment came from the Tegal Alur Post with one unit and five personnel, which was then reinforced by three fleet units from the Kalideres Sector bringing 15 personnel,” he stated.

The spread of the fire was successfully localised within a short time at 10.56 WIB. Officers then proceeded with a cooling-down phase at 11.02 WIB to ensure no remaining hotspots were left.

“The overall extinguishing operation was declared complete at 11.14 WIB. The situation at the location is now green, or safe and under control,” Syaiful said.

As of the time of reporting, the authorities are still conducting further investigations into the exact cause of the fire and the total material losses suffered by the truck owner. There were no reports of casualties or injuries in the incident.
