The West Jakarta Education Sub-department (Sudindik) has handled 5_86 complaints from parents regarding the new student admission system (SPMB).

The Head of the West Jakarta Region I Education Sub-department, Agus Ramdhani, stated that complaint services were conducted from Tuesday (19 May) until Tuesday (2 June), via both online channels and direct reports to the SPMB service post.

“A total of 433 complaints were received via WhatsApp, and 153 complaints were submitted directly by prospective students’ parents to the 2026 Academic Year SPMB Service Post at SMPN 108,” Agus said when confirmed in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Agus explained that SPMB service posts have been opened in every school across DKI Jakarta. In total, there are 238 public educational units, ranging from kindergartens, primary, and junior high schools to senior high, vocational schools, and special needs schools (SLB) within the West Jakarta Region I Education Sub-department area.

Agus clarified that the existence of this city-level service post serves as a solution for complaints that cannot be resolved at the school level. Consequently, the city-level SPMB service post also involves elements from the West Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Office (Dukcapil).

According to Agus, the presence of Dukcapil officers at the city-level post increases the efficiency of complaint resolution. He emphasised that, in addition to visiting the city-level SPMB Service Post in person, his office provides complaint services via WhatsApp for residents seeking school access within the West Jakarta Region I Education Sub-department area, specifically covering the Cengkareng, Kalideres, Tambora, and Taman Sari districts.

“They can report issues through both calls and written messages via the application,” said Agus.
