West Jakarta Civil Registry Office Data Newcomers in Kapuk
Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta Civil Registry and Population Records Service (Sudin Dukcapil) is conducting administrative population data collection (adminduk) for new arrivals after Eid 2026 in RW 016, Kapuk Subdistrict, Cengkareng. Head of Sudin Dukcapil West Jakarta, Gentina Arifin, stated that the activity aims to determine the number of new arrivals entering DKI Jakarta, particularly in West Jakarta. “We are holding this data collection activity to find out how many residents from outside DKI, especially in West Jakarta, have arrived after Eid, whether they are settling permanently or temporarily,” Gentina said in West Jakarta on Monday. She is recording two categories of newcomers: those settling permanently and those staying temporarily. “For new arrivals moving to settle, they are required to bring a transfer letter from their original area. Meanwhile, for those staying temporarily for no more than one year, we will provide non-permanent resident documents,” she said. “The details are: 20 consultations, 31 non-permanent registrations, 21 damaged ID card services, 41 ID card recordings, 8 family card services, and 21 Digital Population Identity (IKD) services. The total services reach 142,” Gentina explained. In addition, officers from Sudin Dukcapil are also conducting outreach to new residents to report immediately to the local neighbourhood administrators. “We urge new arrivals to report to the RT/RW within 1x24 hours. After that, they must also report to Dukcapil to obtain population documents,” she added. Gentina revealed that Kapuk Subdistrict was chosen as the activity location because it has a very large population. Meanwhile, the Head of the Dukcapil Service Unit in Kapuk Subdistrict, Surtinah, added that the majority of new arrivals are over 25 years old and come from West Java, Central Java, and East Java. “Usually, they come to join relatives or look for work in Jakarta,” Surtinah said. She added that this data collection activity will continue until 20 April 2026 and will be carried out in stages. “For permanent registrations, so far in Kapuk Subdistrict, 16 people have been recorded, and this will continue until 20 April,” she said.
