Jakarta (ANTARA) - The City Government and Metro Police of West Jakarta are still opening all their offices for vehicle storage for residents returning to their hometowns during the 2026 Eid al-Fitr holiday break.
“Regarding vehicle storage in accordance with the provisions, we are still preparing places at the district offices, sub-districts, and the mayor’s office. We are open to the public who need it,” said West Jakarta Mayor Iin Mutmainnah to reporters in Jakarta on Friday afternoon.
In agreement, Metro Police Chief of West Jakarta Kombes Pol Twedi Aditya Bennyahdi also stated that parking at the police headquarters and its sub-stations remains open for vehicle storage by holiday travellers.
“The police headquarters and sub-stations are open for motor vehicle storage. It has been announced through social media, through community guidance and security officers for police offices, headquarters, and sub-stations to open vehicle storage facilities,” said Twedi.
However, vehicles deposited must have complete documents in accordance with the regulations. “Accompanied by valid proof of ownership, to avoid issues later when collecting if there is no proof of ownership, the vehicle cannot be retrieved,” he said.
He mentioned that pre-holiday vehicle storage has only been observed at the Kebon Jeruk Police Station. “Yesterday we checked, there was some at the Kebon Jeruk Police Station. Perhaps for other members of the public, other residents, they took their vehicles home for the holidays this time,” he said.
