West Jakarta Administration Conducts Water Mist Spraying in Kembangan

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The West Jakarta City Government has conducted water mist spraying in the Kembangan area as a mitigation step against the spread of volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, which has affected the DKI Jakarta region, on Tuesday.

“Following the instructions of the leadership, today we are moving simultaneously to perform water mist spraying,” said West Jakarta Government Assistant for Administration, Holi Susanto, when confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Holi explained that the spraying is focused on several main roads, such as Jalan Kembangan Selatan, Pasar Puri, and the West Jakarta Mayor’s Office, which can be accessed by large vehicles like water cannons and fire engines.

The spraying was scheduled to begin at 10:00 WIB. According to Holi, this time was chosen to optimise the effectiveness of the activity while reducing potential disruptions to citizen mobility.

“The spraying began at 10:00 WIB when sunlight exposure is higher and the flow of commuters heading to work is relatively smooth, ensuring this activity does not interfere with the mobility of residents,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of the West Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service (Gulkarmat), Suheri, explained that his department deployed two units of fire pump trucks. Each truck has a capacity of 10,000 litres of water.
