West Jakarta’s Population and Civil Registration Service (Dukcapil) has received an award from the Republic of Indonesia’s Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) as the region with the highest national achievement in electronic ID card (e-KTP) recording. The Head of West Jakarta’s Dukcapil, Gentina Arifin, stated that the current population of West Jakarta is around 2.552 million people, with 1.867 million eligible for KTP. “IKD (Digital Population Identity) users in Jakarta are around 36.74 percent or more than 687,000 residents,” Gentina said when confirmed in Jakarta on Monday. She noted that this achievement is the result of support and synergy from all levels of the West Jakarta City Government, from city leadership, assistants, sub-district heads, to village heads. Gentina urged all civil servants (ASN) to have IKD as part of the transformation of population administration services (Adminduk). She hopes that IKD can be utilised more widely in various public services in DKI Jakarta. “We invite all ASN and the public to have IKD. With the digital KTP, the public can still access population identity even without carrying a physical KTP,” she added.
