killer arrested

PHNOM PENH (AFP): Australia, Britain and France yesterday
asked the Cambodian government to redouble its efforts to capture
alive the Khmer Rouge guerrilla commander believed to have
ordered the murders of three of their citizens two years ago.

The ambassadors of the three countries met with Foreign
Minister Ung Huot to reiterate their concern that rebel commander
Nuon Paet is still at large and is believed to have returned to
his former area of control in southern Kampot province, diplomats
said.

"They reminded the government that the case was not closed and
wanted further information on reports that Paet is back in the
Kampot area and asked that every effort be made to capture him
alive," said one of the diplomats.
