West Bandung School Guard Dies After Falling While Repairing Leaking Roof

School guard Mamat Sudarmat (49), employed at SDN Pameungpeuk in Kampung Pameungpeuk RT 03/10, Pasirhalang Village, Cisarua Subdistrict, West Bandung Regency, West Java, died after reportedly falling while repairing a leaking roof. The man, originally from Kampung Cipeusing in Pasirlangu Village, Cisarua Subdistrict, was found dead with bloodstains on the school porch on Monday, 25 May 2026. His body was discovered by a water delivery man who was delivering an order to the teachers’ room.

“We have received a report regarding a body found at SDN Pameungpeuk. The incident occurred yesterday afternoon, around 2:30 PM local time. The victim was a school guard,” said Iptu Gofur Supangkat, Head of Public Relations for Cimahi Police Resort, when questioned on Tuesday, 26 May 2026.

According to statements gathered, Gofur explained that the incident began when a witness delivered a water container to the teachers’ room. However, the witness found the victim lying face down, bleeding on the school porch. The witness then reported the discovery to local residents.

“Following this, the school reported the incident to Cisarua Police Station. Personnel from Cisarua Police Station and the Forensic Team from Cimahi Police Resort attended the scene to recover the victim’s body,” Gofur said.
