West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail inspected damaged roads in the southern region on Wednesday (3/6/2026). The West Bandung Regency Government has allocated a budget for road repairs this year to ensure even development across the southern area.

Jeje inspected three road sections categorised as severely damaged. These include the Gununghalu-Datar Puspa road, which borders the Ciwideuy area of Bandung Regency; the Celak-Sodong road in Gununghalu; and the Malaka-Cijenuk road in Sindangkerta.

“In the southern part of West Bandung, specifically in the Gununghalu District, as we know, West Bandung is quite long from north to south, but many roads still require attention because many are severely damaged,” Jeje stated at the location.

Jeje ensured that the three road sections inspected this time will be repaired as soon as possible. For the Gununghalu-Datar Puspa road, the West Bandung Regency Government has prepared IDR 4 billion to repair a 600-metre stretch with a width of 4 metres using concrete construction. For the Celak-Sodong road, a budget of IDR 2.5 billion has been allocated to repair a 600-metre section with concrete construction, while the Malaka-Cijenuk road has been allocated IDR 1 billion for a 250-metre repair this year.

“One of the many needs expressed by residents is the repair of damaged roads. I have asked the village heads, and it has been many years—more than 10 years, even more than 15 years—without any repairs. This year, please pray that all infrastructure development proceeds smoothly,” said Jeje.

He acknowledged that many other damaged roads are still waiting their turn for repair. The West Bandung Regency Government is committed to undertaking all repairs gradually. “Even though it is gradual, God willing, we will accelerate it. We will also increase the budget to enable even more development,” Jeje added.

He continued that infrastructure improvements, such as roads, will be carried out across all regions of West Bandung, including the north, west, and south. Jeje is committed to ensuring equitable development across the entire region, targeting remote areas rather than centralising efforts solely in urban centres.

“Indeed, there are still many areas in the south, particularly the outermost parts of West Bandung, that face difficulties in infrastructure development. Therefore, we are committed to comprehensive development, not just in the north, but throughout West Bandung so that all citizens can feel the impact,” Jeje concluded.
