The West Bandung Regency administration is implementing a waiver or abolition of administrative sanctions on local taxes. Through this tax penalty amnesty programme, residents only need to pay the principal tax without being charged fines, interest, or tax increases.

The programme to abolish administrative sanctions on local taxes, presented as a gift to the community in celebration of the regency’s 19th anniversary, runs from 9 June to 31 August 2026 and is intended to encourage taxpayer compliance while increasing locally generated revenue (PAD).

“This programme is indeed awaited by the public. Besides easing the burden on taxpayers, this programme has also proven quite optimal in improving compliance and regional revenue from the tax sector,” said West Bandung Regent Jeje Ritchie Ismail during a meeting at the West Bandung Regency Government offices on Wednesday (17/6/2026).

The types of local taxes for which administrative fines are waived include the specific goods and services tax (PBJT) covering food and beverages, hotel services, parking services, and arts and entertainment services. Also included are groundwater tax, billboard tax, non-metallic minerals and rocks tax, and rural and urban land and building tax (PBB P-2).

“Tax types not included in the local tax administrative sanction waiver programme are PBJT on electricity, land and building acquisition duty (BPHTB), motor vehicle tax surcharge, and motor vehicle title transfer surcharge,” Jeje stated.

Jeje expressed hope that through the waiver of administrative sanctions such as fines, interest, or increases, taxpayers would receive relief in fulfilling their tax obligations. “This policy is expected to increase the realisation of arrears payments, taxpayer awareness and compliance, and support the optimisation of West Bandung Regency’s PAD,” Jeje said.

Meanwhile, Acting Head of the West Bandung Regency Regional Revenue Management Agency (Bappenda), Rina Marlina, added that residents wishing to take advantage of the tax penalty amnesty programme can go directly to the Public Service Mall (MPP) at the West Bandung Regency Government Office.

“We urge the public to make the best use of this programme because the time is limited and it only lasts until 31 August 2026,” Rina said.
