West Bandung Regency Halts Unlicensed Slope Cutting on Mount Pasarean

The West Bandung Regency Government has stopped slope cutting activities on Mount Pasarean in Cilutung Hamlet, Singajaya Village, Cihampelas District. Officers have installed a Satpol PP line because the activity did not yet have the required permits.

Head of Regional Regulation Enforcement for the West Bandung Satpol PP, Angga Saputra, said the cessation was carried out after an inspection showed the project had not obtained the necessary permits. “The inspection results show this activity does not yet have a permit. Therefore, we have stopped the activity and installed a Satpol PP line as a sign of sealing. Essentially, no activity is allowed until all permits are fulfilled, including environmental mitigation documents,” Angga said when confirmed on Saturday (4/7/2026).

According to Angga, the cessation step was taken as a form of law enforcement as well as an effort to prevent potential risks to the environment and the surrounding community. He said the project owner was cooperative during the inspection and accepted the temporary cessation decision.

“Alhamdulillah, the owner was cooperative and did not object to the decision taken. They understand that the entire licensing process must be completed first before activities can resume,” Angga said.

Based on information from the owner, the slope cutting on Mount Pasarean was intended to support the development of an agricultural area. In addition, the land was also planned to be equipped with several supporting facilities, such as the construction of access roads and several buildings.
