The Tourism and Culture Office (Disparbud) of West Bandung Regency, West Java, recorded a total of 83,014 tourist visits throughout May 2026, spread across various tourist attractions in the region.

The Head of West Bandung Disparbud, Asep Dendih, stated in West Bandung on Saturday that these figures demonstrate that West Bandung remains one of the favourite destinations for tourists in West Java. “The total number of tourist visits to West Bandung during May 2026 was 83,014 people. The highest volume occurred on a single day, reaching 23,219 tourists,” he said.

He explained that the visitation data was collected from 15 tourist attractions, most of which are located in the northern area of West Bandung, particularly in the Lembang, Parongpong, and Cisarua regions. “Looking at the visitation data, the focus of tourists is still in the northern area. Fortunately, West Bandung continues to hold an attraction for tourists to visit,” he added.

Nevertheless, the West Bandung Regency Government is striving to encourage the even development of the tourism sector towards the western and southern regions, ensuring that tourism economic activities are not solely concentrated in the northern area. Asep noted that this step aligns with the programme of the Regent of West Bandung, Jeje Ritchie Ismail, which targets the development of tourist destinations based on local potential across the entire region.
