West Bandung primary school pupil dies; turns out he was killed by his stepbrother

Police have arrested the suspect in the murder of AS (12), a primary school pupil found dead at his home in Kampung Warung Tiwu, Desa Cipatat, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency (KBB). The suspect is the victim’s stepbrother.

According to detikJabar, on Wednesday (4/3/2026), AS was found dead in a pool of blood by his mother on Tuesday (3/3) afternoon. The victim died from knife wounds to the neck and several stab wounds to the back.

‘Within less than 24 hours, officers from the Cimahi Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) and Cipatat Police Sector had managed to secure the suspect, the victim’s stepbrother,’ said Cimahi Police Chief AKBP Niko N Adi Putra in Cimahi, on Wednesday (4/3/2026). Niko said the suspect had briefly fled to Cianjur. The suspect also reportedly took the victim’s mobile phone. ‘The motive is still under investigation. It is still being thoroughly examined by investigators from the Cimahi Police’s Satreskrim. We will provide updates as they develop,’ said Niko.
