The West Aceh Regency Government is discussing a cooperation plan with PT Hikmah Cakra Mulia, an affiliate subsidiary of Perum LKBN ANTARA, as an effort to increase regional original income (PAD) through the planned installation of videatrons in Meulaboh City.

“We are currently preparing the draft MoU and Cooperation Agreement (PKS) which will outline the points of future mutually beneficial cooperation between the region and the company,” said the Regent of West Aceh, Tarmizi, in Jakarta on Monday.

Tarmizi explained that the West Aceh Government is interested in this partnership because Antara is a state news agency with a national and international news network. Furthermore, the management of the videatrons will be handled professionally by the company’s team.

Tarmizi stated that the cooperation is targeted to be realised this year, specifically within the next few months. Both parties are currently finalising the draft MoU and Cooperation Agreement.

He explained that the presence of these videatrons will not only serve as a medium for government information but will also serve other strategic functions that are highly beneficial to the region. “The most important point is increasing the PAD (Regional Original Income). Additionally, this can serve as a medium for regional promotion, the socialisation of regional programmes, and the delivery of instructions from regional leaders to the entire community,” he added.

He noted that the videatrons could display engaging educational content in video format, such as socialisation regarding the dangers of drugs and their negative impacts on children.

Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Hikmah Cakra Mulia, Prasetyo Utomo, expressed his respect for the working visit conducted by the Regent of West Aceh and his officials. He affirmed a full commitment to strengthening this collaboration in the future.

“Through this future collaboration, HCM and West Aceh will more intensely disseminate information regarding various matters, whether from the central government or the West Aceh Regency Government itself,” said Prasetyo.

Prasetyo stated that this information dissemination would cover various important sectors, ranging from economic empowerment and tourism to regional economic development. As a company specialising in out-of-home media, HCM is committed to fully supporting this information spread.

He also commended the swift action of the West Aceh Government, which has become one of the first regions in Aceh Province to initiate such a programme. “West Aceh is one of the pioneers in initiating the development of out-of-home media, especially these videatrons, in Aceh,” he said. “Moving forward, we hope this collaboration will not be limited to a single point in West Aceh but can expand to several other locations, so that our initial goal of providing more information to the public can be better achieved.”
