We're concerned about the DPR
We're concerned about the DPR
From Bisnis Indonesia
If you go to the House of Representatives (DPR) building now, you will find it partly occupied by unauthorized people who have literally claimed it as "the people's house".
Consequently, many can go in and out of its rooms, or even stay overnight there if they wish. Needless to say, if a huge political rally is staged there, the DPR building soon becomes dirty, including its rest rooms.
Yes, we all are concerned about our DPR building and do not want such situations to continue happening. Actions have been taken by the DPR guards to minimize demonstrators' vandalism, but it has been hard for the guards to stop the pro-Gus Dur demonstrators from entering the building because they accuse those guards as being pro-New Order men.
And if the guards allow those protesters into the DPR they normally regard the building as their own property, thereby believing that they can occupy and use it as they wish.
Allow me to appeal to all demonstrators to keep the House clean and orderly. There is no doubt that it is all of our responsibility to ensure that the DPR's house-keeping is properly maintained all the time.
