Welcoming the Return of Hajj Pilgrims, Ahmad Luthfi Reminds Pilgrims to Maintain Their Mabrur Status
The first group of Hajj pilgrims from the Solo embarkation arrived in the homeland on Tuesday night, 2 June 2026. Tears of joy and expressions of gratitude marked the arrival of 360 pilgrims at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory in Boyolali Regency.
The first group consisted of 358 pilgrims and Hajj officers from Tegal Regency, along with two pilgrims from Surakarta. They arrived at the Donohudan Hajj Dormitory at approximately 10:15 PM WIB after a long journey from the Holy Land.
Central Java Governor Ahmad Luthfi, accompanied by Central Java Regional Secretary Sumarno, Tegal Regent Ischak Maulana Rohman, Chairman of MUI Central Java Ahmad Darodji, and Chairman of the Solo Embarkation Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) Fitriyanto, welcomed the arrival of the hundreds of pilgrims. Following the welcoming ceremony, the pilgrims were immediately transported to their home regions, including Tegal Regency, using provided transport.
Imam Subekhi and Hamidah, a pilgrim couple from Pangkah District, Tegal Regency, expressed their gratitude immediately upon disembarking from their bus. Both expressed thanks for a smooth pilgrimage process, from departure to their safe return to Donohudan.
“Alhamdulillah, the journey was smooth, and we have arrived home today. Thank you to the government and everyone who served us well. While there (in the Holy Land), we were well-served, from Arafat to the food and our accommodation,” said Subekhi.
Diah Karlita, another pilgrim from Kendalserut Village, Tegal, shared her gratitude for being able to perform the Hajj pilgrimage successfully. She travelled with her husband, Ali Yusni, after waiting 14 years for the opportunity.
During the event, Governor Ahmad Luthfi welcomed the pilgrims and wished them a safe journey to their respective home regions. He expressed his hope that the pilgrims would achieve ‘Hajj Mabrur’ status and serve as role models for good behaviour within their families and society.
Luthfi noted that Hajj services are improving daily, a sentiment echoed by the pilgrims themselves. However, he emphasised that evaluations will continue to ensure the delivery of excellent service to the public.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Solo Embarkation PPIH, Fitriyanto, reported that the Solo embarkation dispatched 29,039 Hajj pilgrims this year.
