Welcoming the 80th Bhayangkara Day, Riau Police Distribute Thousands of Social Aid Packages and Clean Water

The Riau Regional Police (Polda Riau) and its ranks have conducted a series of social activities to welcome the 80th Bhayangkara Day. Thousands of social aid packages and clean water supplies have been distributed to communities in need. As of Monday, 22 June 2026, Polda Riau and its ranks had successfully distributed 3,360 social aid packages to underprivileged residents. The assistance was provided as a form of the Indonesian National Police’s (Polri) concern in helping to ease the burden on the community and strengthen the relationship between the police and citizens. Riau Police Chief Inspector General Herry Heryawan stated that this activity is not merely ceremonial but a manifestation of Polri’s care for the community. ‘The 80th Bhayangkara Day is a momentum to strengthen closeness with the community. Through the distribution of social aid and clean water, we hope to provide tangible benefits, because essentially Polri is present to protect, serve, and grow together with the people of Riau,’ said Inspector General Herry Heryawan. The Riau Police Chief also emphasised that Polri will continue to be present not only as protectors, guardians, and public servants but also as partners who care about the various social issues faced by the community. In addition to distributing social aid, Polda Riau also delivered clean water to 24 locations experiencing limited access to clean water. This programme is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence in helping to meet the basic needs of the community while improving the quality of health and welfare of residents. In the social and religious fields, Polda Riau also carried out 12 religious service activities at various places of worship. These activities included community service, cleaning the environment of places of worship, and various other forms of social care as an effort to strengthen the values of tolerance, togetherness, and harmony among religious communities. Furthermore, Polda Riau has also implemented a house renovation programme for one unit for a resident in need. This programme is a form of Polri’s concern to help the community obtain more decent, safe, and comfortable housing for their families. As part of the implementation of the Green Policing programme, Polda Riau also held two ‘Beautiful Indonesia Movement’ activities aimed at raising public awareness of the importance of preserving the environment. Through this activity, Polri invites all elements of society to work together to create a clean, green, and healthy environment. Meanwhile, the Director of Traffic of Polda Riau, Commissioner Jeki Rahmat Mustika, explained that the social service and aid activities carried out not only focus on providing assistance but also serve as a means to strengthen ties and build emotional closeness between Polri and the community. In every activity, personnel also provide education on public order, traffic safety, and the importance of maintaining cleanliness and environmental sustainability through the Green Policing programme. ‘On this occasion, the Traffic Directorate of Polda Riau and its ranks also carried out the Polantas Menyapa programme to provide education on public security and order, traffic safety and order, and Green Policing to the community. We hope that through these activities, the community not only receives social assistance but also gains a better understanding of the importance of maintaining environmental security, traffic order, and care for nature,’ said Commissioner Jeki Rahmat Mustika. He stressed that the presence of Polri in the community must provide broad benefits, both through social assistance and education that can improve the quality of life of the community in a sustainable manner. ‘Through this 80th Bhayangkara Day momentum, we want to ensure that Polri’s presence is truly felt by the community. We hope that the various social programmes we carry out can help ease the burden on the community and strengthen the spirit of togetherness and mutual cooperation,’ said Commissioner Jeki Rahmat Mustika. The activity received a positive response from the community. A resident of the Wonosobo Ujung Housing Complex, Talang Mandi Village, Mandau District, Bengkalis Regency, named Intan Rahma, expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the Riau Police Chief and all ranks for the care given to the community. ‘We, the community, express our deepest thanks and highest appreciation to the Riau Police Chief and all ranks. The clean water assistance provided has greatly helped us meet our daily household needs, especially for residents who have long experienced difficulties accessing clean water,’ said Intan.
