Welcoming Jakarta's 499th Anniversary, Jakarta Provincial Government Holds Inaugural CFD on Rasuna Said
The Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a motor vehicle-free day or Car Free Day (CFD) on Jalan HR Rasuna Said on Sunday (10/5/2026). The activity is also part of the proclamation of Jakarta City’s 499th Anniversary. Acting Head of the Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency, Ujang Hermawan, stated that the CFD implementation will take place from 05:30 to 10:00 WIB. The CFD area will cover the eastern and western sides of Jalan HR Rasuna Said. According to Ujang, for the eastern side, the CFD zone will apply from the Gembira Street intersection to the Raya Casablanca Street intersection. Meanwhile, on the western side, the closure will be from the Prof Dr Satrio Street intersection to the Setiabudi Utara Raya Street intersection. During the CFD implementation, the Jakarta Transportation Agency will also prepare traffic engineering in the area. Vehicles from the Manggarai direction heading to Tanah Abang or Karet will be directed via Jalan Sultan Agung, Jalan Galunggung, to Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo. Meanwhile, vehicle flow from Kampung Melayu to Tanah Abang will be diverted through Jalan Raya Casablanca, Jalan Prof Dr Satrio, and Jalan KH Mas Mansyur. Vehicles from the Tanah Abang or Karet direction heading to Manggarai will be directed via Jalan RM Margono Djojohadikoesoemo, Jalan Galunggung, and Jalan Sultan Agung. Whereas the flow heading to Kampung Melayu will be diverted through Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Jalan Prof Dr Satrio, and Jalan Raya Casablanca. Diversions will also be applied for vehicles from the Menteng direction heading to Kuningan, which will pass through Jalan Galunggung, Jalan Gembira, Jalan Kuningan Persada, Jalan Kuningan Mulya, Jalan Achmad Bakrie Barat, to Jalan Casablanca. Meanwhile, vehicles from the Kuningan direction heading to Menteng will be directed via Jalan Prof Dr Satrio, Jalan Denpasar Raya, Jalan Setiabudi, Jalan Setiabudi Utara Raya, Jalan Setiabudi Tengah, and Jalan Galunggung. To support the activity, the Jakarta Transportation Agency provides 3,687 parking units consisting of 1,680 car parking units and 2,007 motorcycle parking units. Parking areas are prepared at several points around the CFD location, including the Pasar Festival area and GOR Soemantri, Rasuna Epicentrum, Setiabudi One, as well as the Nyi Ageng Serang Building.
