Welcoming Indonesia's 81st Independence Day: When Should the Red and White Flag be Hoisted?
In preparation for the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia in 2026, the government has issued an appeal to fly the Red and White flag throughout the community. The flag hoisting is to take place during the month of Independence, which is August.
Referring to the Circular Letter of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 400.10.1.1/5487/SJ regarding the Socialisation of the Theme and Logo of the 81st Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia, the simultaneous hoisting of the Red and White flag in respective environments and regions shall be carried out from 1 to 31 August 2026.

The logo and theme design for the 81st Independence Day should be used in various publication media, including print, electronic, and digital, which can be paired with other logos, while observing the spacing and number of logos according to the specified regulations.
Decorations, banners, posters, billboards, or other derivative ornaments in office environments should utilise the aforementioned logo.
Competitions involving active community participation should be organised in accordance with local wisdom and traditional cultural values in each region, aligning with government priority programmes to raise collective awareness of national values, strengthen social solidarity, and encourage real contributions to the nation’s progress.

As people’s sovereignty carries various interpretations, several keywords representing the sovereignty of the Indonesian people were established. These keywords serve as references in designing the shapes, patterns, and visual details to form a complete visual identity:
People’s Sovereignty: The Indonesian people are the main foundation that forms the strength and sustainability of the nation.
Unity in Diversity: The various cultures of the Nusantara possess different patterns and forms, yet share commonalities that serve as the national meeting point.
