Welcoming Bhayangkara Day, Sumsel Police Chief Inaugurates SPKT and Distributes Aid
The event took place at the Musi Rawas Police Resort today, Wednesday (29/4/2026). The series of activities began with the inauguration of the SPKT building. This inauguration is intended to improve the quality of public services so that the community can receive police services in a faster, easier, more responsive, and humane manner.
Irjen Sandi stated that improvements in police service facilities must truly be felt by the community.
“We hope this SPKT can become the face of better Polri services. The public who come for services must be served quickly, humanely, and with full responsibility,” he said.
After the inauguration, Irjen Sandi and his entourage inspected the Social Service booth. In that activity, 2,000 social aid packages were distributed to the community.
Next, Irjen Sandi inspected the GENTING booth, which is the Adoptive Parents Movement to Prevent Stunting. This programme is a caring initiative to help children who need support in meeting nutrition, health attention, and ongoing guidance to grow healthier.
Through the GENTING programme, Polri together with relevant parties plays a role in supporting the acceleration of stunting reduction, particularly by encouraging collective concern for children at risk of stunting. This programme is not only about providing aid but also a moral movement.
The series of activities continued with an inspection of the Borehole Well programme. This programme aims to help the community gain access to clean water, especially in areas needing clean water facilities.
The presence of these boreholes is expected to provide direct benefits to residents, for household needs, places of worship, education, or community social activities.
On that occasion, Irjen Sandi inspected the Home Renovation programme. This programme is expected to help residents obtain safer, healthier, and more comfortable housing.
In addition, school equipment aid was provided to children who are victims of house fires as a form of attention to the continuity of education for children affected by disasters.
The activities then proceeded to the Mass Circumcision booth. This programme is part of Polri’s health service to the community, especially children. In addition to inspecting the mass circumcision implementation, Irjen Sandi handed over school equipment aid as support for the learning enthusiasm of the child participants.
The activities continued with inspecting the Health Service activity of Donating 1,000 Bags of Blood. After the inspection, the activities proceeded with the handover of an appreciation certificate from the South Sumatra Province PMI as recognition of Polda Sumsel’s support in that humanitarian activity.
Irjen Sandi emphasised that this Social and Health Service Month is a manifestation of Polri’s dedication to continue being present in the midst of the community, not only in maintaining security and public order but also helping to address the social and health needs of residents.
“Polri is present not only to maintain security but also to be part of the solution for the community. Through these social and health service activities, we want to bring real benefits, strengthen care, and maintain the closeness of Polri with the community,” he said.
Through these activities, Polda Sumsel hopes that the momentum welcoming Bhayangkara Day 2026 can further strengthen synergy between Polri, local government, PMI, relevant stakeholders, and all elements of society in realising a secure, healthy, caring, and prosperous South Sumatra.
