Welcoming Bhayangkara Anniversary, Metro Jaya Police and Japanese Chef Cook Fried Rice at CFD

The opening of the 2026 National Police Sports Week took place festively at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters today. The atmosphere became even more vibrant when Japanese chef Hideki Fujiwara cooked 250 portions of nasi goreng for residents present at the car-free day area on Jalan Sudirman.

Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya Police, Commissioner Budi Hermanto, stated that the activity carried the theme ‘Dapur Jaga Jakarta: Warming Food, Strengthening Brotherhood.’ This theme is expected to symbolise the spirit of togetherness, humanistic service, and the closeness of the National Police with the community.

‘In its implementation, Chef Hideki’s cooking action collaborated with Randurlap, the Brimob Metro Jaya Police Field Kitchen Vehicle. The presence of Randurlap is a form of support for the National Police’s field kitchen facilities in delivering direct services to the community,’ Budi said in his statement on Sunday.

Budi noted that the public enthusiastically watched the cooking process carried out by Chef Hideki together with Brimob Metro Jaya Police personnel. The aroma of the fried rice attracted the attention of local residents.

Budi added that this activity was not only part of the opening of the 2026 National Police Sports Week but also a tangible manifestation of the National Police’s closeness with the community in welcoming the 80th Bhayangkara Day. ‘Through Dapur Jaga Jakarta, we want to bring happiness, warmth, and strengthen brotherhood with the community,’ he said.

Budi further stated that the collaboration between Chef Hideki and the Brimob Metro Jaya Police Randurlap demonstrates that police facilities are not only present in emergency situations but can also be utilised for social activities and humanitarian services. ‘This collaboration is proof that the National Police is present in various spaces of community service,’ he added.

Chef Hideki expressed his happiness at being able to take part in the activity. He said he was pleased that his fried rice received a positive response from the public. ‘Today’s activity was very exciting. Alhamdulillah, many people came, many smiled, and said the food was delicious. I am also happy. Thank you, ladies and gentlemen,’ said Chef Hideki.

Chef Hideki mentioned that all the food he made was completely distributed to the public. He then conveyed his congratulations on the 80th Bhayangkara Day. ‘The fried rice was great, it’s all gone. All 250 portions are finished. Happy 80th Bhayangkara Day,’ he said.

The General Chairperson of Bhayangkari, Mrs. Juliati Sigit Prabowo, was present at the event and watched Chef Hideki’s cooking process firsthand.
