Welcoming Bhayangkara Anniversary, Bengkalis Police Hold Joint Prayers on 1 Muharram
The transition to the Islamic New Year 1 Muharram 1448 Hijriah, coinciding with the lead-up to the 80th Bhayangkara Anniversary, served as a moment of spiritual reflection for the Rokan Hulu Police Resort. The Bengkalis Police Resort observed the Islamic New Year by holding joint prayers and providing support to orphans.
The activity was held at the Al Hikmah Mosque within the Bengkalis Police Resort headquarters on Tuesday (16/6/2026), led by Bengkalis Police Chief AKBP Fahrian Saleh Siregar alongside the resort’s senior officials, police personnel, civil servants, government employees with work agreements, casual daily workers, and the Bengkalis Branch Bhayangkari administrators. Several religious figures and dozens of orphans from the Bengkalis area also attended.
Police Chief AKBP Fahrian stressed that this agenda was not merely an annual ceremony, but a cultural and spiritual bridge to strengthen the emotional relationship between the police and the public.
“This dual commemoration, the Islamic New Year 1448 H and the 80th Bhayangkara Day, is a spiritual as well as a social momentum for us. Through these joint prayers and support for orphans, we are knocking on heaven’s door with the hope of obtaining blessings, safety, and new positive energy in carrying out our duties of service to the community, nation, and state,” said AKBP Fahrian in his statement.
The series of events began with the recitation of holy verses from the Qur’an and continued with a religious lecture delivered by a prominent local ustadz. In his sermon, the ustadz emphasised the importance of the true meaning of hijrah for a law enforcement officer.
The essence of the sermon: The momentum of the Islamic New Year must be used as a means of reflection and self-evaluation to increase faith and devotion to Allah SWT. Additionally, the commemoration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day serves as a turning point to continuously improve oneself, leave behind old bad habits, and strengthen the spirit of sincere dedication and service to the community.
After listening to the lecture, the entire congregation that filled the Al Hikmah Mosque immersed themselves in the solemnity of joint prayer. The echoes of dhikr and prayers were offered with several great hopes, including seeking protection and blessings for the integrity of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
At this moment, the Police Chief also prayed for ease and strength for the entire Police institution in maintaining national stability, particularly as it enters the 80th Bhayangkara Day, and for security in the Bengkalis region to remain conducive.
As a tangible expression of gratitude for all the institution’s achievements, the Bengkalis Police Resort concluded the activity with a social action by handing over aid and essential packages to the attending orphans. The happiness was clearly visible on the children’s faces as they interacted directly with the personnel of the Bhayangkara Corps.
