Welcoming 80th Bhayangkara Day, Bogor Police Build 8 'ASRI' Homes in Phase II
The Bogor Resort Police of the West Java Regional Police are intensively carrying out a large-scale humanitarian programme in celebration of the 80th Bhayangkara Day. A total of eight Uninhabitable Houses (Rutilahu) are being completely renovated simultaneously through the flagship ‘Rumah ASRI’ (Safe, Healthy, Neat, Beautiful) programme, spread across various corners of the jurisdiction of the subordinate sector police stations.
This concrete step is a continuation of the long-term social service commitment of the police institution. Previously, in Phase I, the Bogor Police successfully completed the construction of 13 houses. All have been handed over and are occupied by the beneficiaries.
Bogor Police Chief AKBP Wikha Ardilestanto stated that the success of the first phase became a driving force to provide the best service gift to improve the living standards of the people of Bogor Regency as the National Police officially reaches its 80th year.
AKBP Wikha explained that what is special about the ‘Rumah ASRI’ programme is that all construction funding sources do not use the official budget, but are purely born from internal self-help through the ‘Polisi Baik’ (Good Police) Programme.
“This programme is an empathy-based humanitarian movement, where all members of the Bogor Police voluntarily participate in a pooled fund system, setting aside a portion of their earnings to be collected as the main capital to renovate the homes of underprivileged residents,” AKBP Wikha told reporters on Thursday (18/6/2026).
“Through this independent funding scheme, the Bogor Police force wants to prove that a sense of social concern and an inner bond with the hardships of the community’s life have become ingrained in the soul of every police personnel in the Bogor Regency area,” he continued.
AKBP Wikha stated that the Bogor Police view the fulfilment of the need for decent housing as the main foundation in creating public peace and reducing social vulnerability. Uninhabitable houses often correlate with high family health vulnerability, low economic productivity, and potential security disturbances at the smallest neighbourhood level.
Therefore, he continued, through this programme the National Police is present not only as a law enforcer but also as a driving force for social welfare that touches the grassroots, to ensure every citizen has a safe and dignified living space to grow.
The acceleration of development that prioritises humanitarian values in Phase II touches several strategic points, including areas under the Caringin, Cibungbulang, and Megamendung Sector Police. The arrangement of decent housing in these rural areas is deliberately designed simultaneously to instantly boost the economic wheel and the health quality of underprivileged families, so that the community can feel the direct impact of the police presence in their environment.
The distribution of the programme, which covers cross-regional areas, also reaches the eastern and western parts of Bogor Regency, including the jurisdictions of the Cileungsi, Cigudeg, and Klapanunggal Sector Police. In these locations, an atmosphere of mutual cooperation is very strong, where police personnel blend completely without barriers with local residents, youth leaders, and elements of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) to work hand-in-hand completing the basic construction of the buildings from morning to evening.
Two other important points that complete the main targets of this second phase programme are in the Gunung Putri and Citeureup Sector Police areas. Specifically for the construction in the Citeureup area, the Bogor Police gave deep emotional attention by dedicating this renovation programme as a decent home for a Warakawuri family, the wife of a retired or fallen police officer. This step was taken as a form of noble institutional respect so that the services of the Bhayangkara members who have passed on continue to be appreciated and cared for by the next generation.
“The momentum of the 80th Bhayangkara Day must be used as a spirit booster for all sector police ranks to always create service innovations that directly touch the most fundamental aspects of the people’s livelihood,” said AKBP Wikha.
He ensured that the construction specifications at these eight locations do not merely pursue the physical architectural beauty aspect, but must meet standardisation of technical feasibility, sanitation, natural lighting, and good air circulation to create a sustainable healthy home environment.
AKBP Wikha guaranteed the comfort and smooth daily activities of the beneficiaries during the demolition and house renovation process. The Bhabinkamtibmas officers in each area have proactively moved from the start, coordinating closely with local neighbourhood and community unit administrators to facilitate and find temporary decent housing for the beneficiary families, so that the social and psychological aspects of the community are well maintained until the ‘Rumah ASRI’ buildings are ready to be officially handed over.
