Welcomed by Residents, Kang DS Launches Affordable Food Campaign in Sapan Village, Tegalluar
The Bandung Regency Government once again conducted the Cheap Food Movement (Gerakan Pangan Murah or GPM) at Al-Syifa Mosque in Sapan Village, Tegalluar, Bojongsoang District, Bandung Regency, on Friday (6 March 2026).
The cheap food movement, initiated by the Bandung Regency Government through the Food Security and Fisheries Service (Dispakan) and the Trade and Industry Service (Disperdagin) of Bandung Regency, and in collaboration with several partner food suppliers or producers, was met with enthusiasm by hundreds to thousands of residents from 14 community units (RW) in Tegalluar Village.
Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna, accompanied by the Chairman of the PKK District TP Hj Emma Dety Permanawati, the Head of Dispakan Bandung Regency Uka Suska Puji Utama, and the Acting Head of Disperdagin Bandung Regency Dicky Anugrah, attended the event.
The Regent personally observed the public’s enthusiasm as they sought essential food items for Ramadhan 1447. The public appeared happy to obtain staple goods at prices cheaper and more affordable than market prices.
He said that through the cheap food movement at Al-Syifa Sapan, the government provides a Rp 20,000 discount per coupon for each purchase of basic necessities to beneficiaries.
“We prepared nearly 2,500 packages to be given to residents of Tegalluar Village and surrounding areas,” said Kang DS, the popular nickname for Dadang Supriatna, during the cheap food movement and the charity distribution to orphans in Sapan.
He hopes that this cheap food movement can support the government’s programs or the community’s needs, especially the nine basic commodities currently in high demand.
Kang DS stated that the cheap food movement will continue to be implemented to control inflation in Bandung Regency, not only in Bojongsoang District.
“The cheap food movement will be spread to all subdistricts across Bandung Regency,” he said.
Similar activities were held at the residence of Deputy Speaker of the DPR H Cucun Ahmad Syamsurijal in Solokanjeruk, Bandung Regency, on Wednesday (4 March 2026).
“We will continue this cheap food movement. Hopefully, with the cheap food movement, prices of basic commodities in Bandung Regency can be stabilised,” he said.
After carrying out the cheap food movement, Kang DS, together with Bunda Bedas Hj Emma Dety Dadang Supriatna, routinely or annually distributed mal zakat to orphans as beneficiaries of the social assistance.
“Praise be to Allah, we (mal zakat) hold this annually or at the end of Ramadhan. I always meet with orphans, the poor, including the elderly. Praise be to Allah, today we have given assistance,” he said.
Kang DS added that the mal zakat is from his own mal zakat, family zakat, and God willing, will be given to 1,063 people spread across 14 RWs in Tegalluar Village. He noted that previously it affected around 1,800 people; now it is 1,063.
The Regent of Bedas hopes the cheap food movement can assist the surrounding community. Yesterday, authorities distributed basic food packages to all Tegalluar villagers as part of the annual Ramadhan routine.
“Hopefully it is blessed, all deeds and our efforts will be protected and blessed, and may Allah SWT reward us. Ameen. Pray for us as we carry out this duty under Allah’s protection. Ameen.” he concluded.
