Indonesia is once again in mourning over the deaths of three of its finest National Armed Forces (TNI) soldiers who were carrying out a world peacekeeping mission in southern Lebanon. The three peacekeeping heroes arrived in the homeland via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang, on Saturday (4/4) evening, and were welcomed with a solemn full military honours ceremony.

The welcoming ceremony for the remains was led directly by President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto, and attended by the TNI Commander, the National Police Chief, and several high-ranking state officials as well as TNI leaders as a final tribute to the soldiers who fell in the line of duty for the nation.

The three TNI soldiers who fell in the mission were Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Serka (Posthumous) Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Kopda (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadon.

After the welcoming procession in the homeland, the remains were then transported to their respective home regions for military burials.

Major Inf (Posthumous) Zulmi Aditya Iskandar will be buried at the Cikutra Heroes’ Cemetery (TMP), Bandung. Meanwhile, Serka (Posthumous) M. Nur Ichwan will be buried at TMP Giri Dhamoloyo II, Magelang, and Kopda (Posthumous) Farizal Rhomadon at TMP Giripen, Kulonprogo.

In the pickup procession, Pangdam IX/Udayana Mayjen TNI Piek Budyakto was present in person to welcome the return of the remains of Serka (Posthumous) M. Nur Ichwan, who was a soldier from Kodam IX/Udayana. On that occasion, the Pangdam also had the opportunity to meet the late’s family in the VIP room at the airport, namely his wife Hana Dita Anjani, and their beloved daughter Maurellia Syakila Nur Salsabila, who is currently about seven months old.

On behalf of the entire Kodam IX/Udayana family, Pangdam IX/Udayana conveyed deep condolences while providing moral support to the bereaved family. The Pangdam’s presence is a tangible manifestation of the institution’s attention and care towards the family of the soldier who fell in the line of duty for the nation.

As a form of empathy and appreciation for the late’s service, Pangdam IX/Udayana also handed over assistance through Asisten Personel Kasdam IX/Udayana Kolonel Arh Burhan Fajari Arfian, consisting of one complete house unit with its furnishings in Magelang, one motorcycle unit, and several other aids to help meet the needs of the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, Kapendam IX/Udayana Kolonel Inf Widi Rahman stated that the presence of Pangdam IX/Udayana in the remains pickup process is a form of respect as well as the institution’s attention to the soldier who fell in the line of duty for the nation.

“The presence of Pangdam IX/Udayana is a manifestation of respect for the soldier who has sacrificed his body and soul for the nation’s duty and to maintain world peace. Kodam IX/Udayana will also continue to provide attention and support to the family of the fallen soldier as a form of appreciation for the late’s service to the nation and state,” he said.

The Kapendam added that the spirit of service demonstrated by these soldiers will always serve as an example and inspiration for all TNI soldiers to continue carrying out their duties with loyalty, professionalism, and high dedication to the nation and state.

The sacrifice of these three TNI soldiers is concrete evidence of Indonesia’s commitment to supporting the world peacekeeping mission, as well as a source of pride for the TNI and all Indonesian people.
