Weekly Stock Exchange: Market Capitalisation Falls 2.78 Percent

The Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) recorded a 2.78 percent drop in market capitalisation from Rp 12,736 trillion last week to Rp 12,382 trillion this week. The Composite Stock Price Index (IHSG) weakened by 2.42 percent during the period of 27-30 April, closing at 6,956.8 on Thursday, 30 April 2026. This position fell from 7,129.4 the previous week.

“Stock trading data on the BEI for the period 27-30 April 2026 closed in negative territory,” said BEI Corporate Secretary Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad in an official statement on Thursday, 30 April 2026. The average daily transaction value declined 6.81 percent from Rp 19.61 trillion last week to Rp 18.27 trillion this week.

The average daily transaction frequency this week fell 15.02 percent to 2.34 million transactions from 2.75 million last week. Meanwhile, the average daily transaction volume dropped 17.32 percent to 37.11 billion shares from 44.48 billion shares the previous week.

On Thursday, 30 April 2026, selling pressure dominated the market with 600 stocks weakening, 146 strengthening, and 213 stagnant. The IHSG’s decline aligned with corrections in several major indices, including the LQ45 index, which fell 14.80 points or 2.16 percent to 669.34.

Capital market observer Reydi Octa assessed that the IHSG weakening was triggered by a combination of global risk-off sentiment and domestic pressures.

“From the global side, the strengthening of the US dollar and uncertainty over interest rates are driving capital outflows. Domestically, issues of free float, HSC (high shareholding concentration), and index rebalancing are deepening the correction,” said Reydi on Thursday, 30 April 2026, as reported by Antara.
