Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is targeting the Indonesia International Financial Centre (PFII) to begin operations this year. ‘We will see, the government regulation and everything else have not been drafted yet. We hope the regulation can be implemented within six months,’ Purbaya said after attending the July 2026 edition of the APBN KiTa press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday (21/7).

Minister Purbaya also reported that the State Budget (APBN) recorded a deficit of Rp196.5 trillion, or 0.76 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), as of June 2026. ‘With strong revenue growth, productive spending, and measured expenditure, the deficit remains under control at Rp196.5 trillion or 0.76 percent of GDP,’ he stated at the APBN KiTa press conference.

Danantara Indonesia, through PT Danantara Asset Management (DAM), officially signed a Share Purchase Agreement for the shares of PT Mandiri Manajemen Investasi (MMI), PT BRI Manajemen Investasi (BRI MI), PT BNI Asset Management (BNI AM), and PT PNM Investment Management (PNM IM). The signing marks the transfer of control of the four state-owned investment managers to DAM, which collectively recorded assets under management (AUM) of more than Rp170 trillion as of June 2026.

Bank Indonesia (BI), through its monthly Board of Governors Meeting for July 2026 held on Tuesday (21/7) and Wednesday, decided to maintain the benchmark interest rate (BI-Rate) at 5.75 percent. The deposit facility rate was also held at 4.75 percent, while the lending facility rate remained at 6.5 percent.
