President sends presidential letter to DPR proposing Destry as definitive BI Governor
President Prabowo Subianto has sent a Presidential Letter to the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) proposing Destry Damayanti as the definitive Governor of Bank Indonesia (BI). She currently serves as Acting Governor of BI. The letter was delivered by Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi to the DPR leadership on Monday. According to him, Destry is the sole name proposed by the President for the position of BI Governor.
Government finalises Presidential Regulation on online motorcycle taxis, completes several formulas
The government is finalising a Presidential Regulation governing the online transport ecosystem related to online motorcycle taxis, including discussing the latest formula on the business model of transport services. “Yesterday we held another coordination meeting to finalise the Online Motorcycle Taxi Presidential Regulation. Almost all substantive matters of principle have been successfully formulated,” said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in response to questions at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Tuesday.
Puan responds to Kaesang running in the same electoral district in the 2029 election
Chair of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Puan Maharani responded to the plan of Chair of the Indonesian Solidarity Party Kaesang Pangarep to run in the same electoral district as her in the 2029 Legislative Election. Puan, who is also Speaker of the DPR, said that nominating figures in a particular electoral district in an election is the right of every political party. “It is the right of every political party to nominate any name in all electoral districts,” she said briefly when met at the parliamentary complex, Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday.
3,395 bridges built by TNI-Polri ease public access
A total of 3,395 Merah Putih bridges built by the Indonesian National Armed Forces and National Police in several regions of Indonesia have eased public access to essential facilities ranging from education to health. Army Chief of Staff General Maruli Simanjuntak, in a press statement from the Government Communication Agency in Jakarta on Thursday, said the military has built 2,500 bridges benefiting around 4.5 million Indonesians.
