Weekly Economy: MSCI Review to 2026 Economic Census
Global index provider MSCI has acknowledged the transparency reforms announced by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), and the Indonesian Central Securities Depository (KSEI). The recognition covers enhanced disclosure of shareholders with ownership above 1 percent, more detailed investor classification, the introduction of a High Shareholders Concentration (HSC) framework, and a roadmap to increase the minimum free float requirement to 15 percent.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia confirmed that Indonesia will stop importing diesel fuel this year, ahead of the mandatory 50 percent biodiesel blend (B50) coming into effect in July 2026. “In July we will inaugurate B50, which will save Indonesia’s face from our dependence on diesel imports. Starting this year, we will no longer import diesel,” Bahlil stated in Jakarta on Thursday.
