A mass action titled Weekend Melawan is scheduled to take place in front of the DPR, MPR, and DPD complex on Friday, 6 March 2026, in the afternoon. The action will be organised by the UI Students Alliance and civil society coalition networks. Razan Dianda Fatahillah, representing UI Students for Justice in Palestine, said on Thursday, 5 March 2026 that the Weekend Melawan action will also be staged on Saturday and Sunday. She explained that the aim is to keep the momentum of the movement and spark similar actions in other parts of Indonesia. ‘The action will focus on Saturday afternoon at the Arjuna Wijaya Horse Statue area, Central Jakarta,’ she added. The Weekend Melawan action is organised to press President Prabowo Subianto to realise the ultimatum issued by the UI Students Alliance on Wednesday, 4 March. In the demand letter sent to the State Secretariat Ministry, the UI Alliance urged Prabowo to halt plans to dispatch Indonesian troops to Gaza in the International Stabilisation Force (ISF) mission. Prabowo was also urged to fulfil his pledge to withdraw Indonesia’s membership from the Board of Peace (BoP), which is deemed no longer aligned with the aims of peace. The alliance additionally calls on Prabowo and the Red-and-White Cabinet to revise the Foreign Ministry’s statement, which is considered to reduce the US-Israel military operation in Iran to an implication of failed negotiations, and instead condemn and strongly denounce the actions of the US and Israel in Iran. ‘We also give the President and his administration an ultimatum to meet all the demands within 3x24 hours before the anger of the Indonesian people descends,’ said UI Alliance representative Fathimah Azzahra in a written statement on Thursday. The Alliance says Indonesia’s participation in BoP contradicts the opening preamble of the 1945 Constitution, which rejects all forms of colonialism. In that forum, the dominant role is shown by the United States and its ally Israel, with no Palestinian representation. Israel occupies Palestinian land with military aggression. The US has repeatedly vetoed attempts by the United Nations Security Council to recognise a Palestinian state.
