Wedding of Hasto Kristiyanto's Son: Javanese Cultural Ambiance and National Figures in Attendance

A solemn atmosphere imbued with Javanese cultural nuances enveloped the wedding proceedings of Ignatius Windu Hastomo (Igo), son of PDI Perjuangan Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto, and Lim Xin Rui (Emily). The event, held on Saturday, 23 May 2026, was a special occasion blending religious sanctity and the richness of Nusantara traditions.

The ceremony began with a church blessing at Gereja Banteng in Sleman. Following the sacred ritual, the Ngunduh Mantu reception took place at Pendopo Krido Manunggal Budaya in Yogyakarta, chosen to emphasise the Javanese traditions embraced by the couple and their families.

The gathering, attended by approximately 1,000 guests, brought together prominent national figures. Former Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri was present to offer her blessings, alongside Yogyakarta Sultan and DIY Governor Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X among other distinguished guests.

The presence of VIPs proceeded smoothly and orderly, with professional event management ensuring guest comfort despite the high level of enthusiasm.

Throughout the reception, guests were immersed in a deep cultural atmosphere. Traditional gamelan karawitan music accompanied each ceremonial stage, while classical dance performances such as Tari Rama Sinta and Tari Semara Ratih symbolised loyalty and affection.

The celebration was further enriched by the presence of renowned Indonesian musicians. Once Mekel, Krisdayanti, and Brisia Jodie contributed their vocal talents, adding warmth to the elegant yet intimate reception atmosphere.
